We are looking to hire an experienced Water Truck Driver to join our Dallas team!
Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive an assigned water truck in support of construction operations.
Operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
Transport water to construction job sites for dust control, soil compaction, grading, and utility installation support.
Fill and discharge water tanks safely and efficiently using pumps, valves, and spray systems.
Ensure water loads are properly managed to prevent spills, damage, or unsafe driving conditions.
Follow designated routes within job sites and public roadways, ensuring timely and safe operation.
Communicate with foremen, superintendents, and equipment operators to coordinate water distribution needs.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the water truck and related equipment.
Monitor weather and site conditions to adjust driving and spraying operations accordingly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle at all times.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including refueling, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and basic troubleshooting.
Report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or operational delays to management promptly.
Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, and work hours in compliance with DOT requirements.
Obey all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
Operate safely around workers, heavy equipment, trenches, and active construction zones.
Make safety a priority at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) required (Class A preferred depending on equipment).
Current DOT Medical Card.
Minimum 2+ years of commercial driving experience, preferably in construction or heavy civil environments.
Experience operating water trucks or similar construction vehicles preferred.
Clean driving record with no major moving violations.
Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Skilled in maneuvering and parking large, heavy vehicles in tight or active job site conditions.
Strong awareness of surroundings; alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
Comfortable working long hours, including early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays.
Proficient in using GPS, radios, and basic mobile devices for communication and routing.
Ability to read maps and follow job site plans and directions.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and job site accountability.
Education and Experience:
Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Climate-controlled office environment with varying temperatures
Occasional travel to jobsites with exposure to fluctuating weather conditions
Shop & Field Roles:
Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions
Work may be performed in confined spaces
Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt
Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud
Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Frequent overhead reaching and lifting
Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
Manual labor, including hand digging as needed
Some Saturday work required; Sundays are rarely needed
