We are seeking an experienced Rock Truck Operator to join our team in Waco, TX. The ideal candidate will operate articulated rock trucks to support earthwork and heavy civil construction projects while working closely with field crews to help keep production moving efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Operate articulated rock trucks to transport dirt, rock, aggregate, and other materials throughout construction job sites.
Operate additional heavy equipment as needed to support project operations.
Work with excavator, dozer, grader, and loader operators to maintain efficient material movement and production.
Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
Follow established haul routes and communicate with crew members to support safe and efficient job site operations.
Complete daily equipment inspections and accurately document findings.
Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working condition.
Identify equipment maintenance needs and communicate repair requests to the appropriate supervisor.
Participate in daily crew meetings and project planning activities.
Work closely with project teams to help meet daily production goals.
Assist with additional duties as assigned to support project operations when equipment is not in use.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience operating articulated rock trucks or similar heavy construction equipment.
Working knowledge of heavy civil construction, earthwork, and material hauling operations.
Familiarity with electronic equipment controls and operating systems.
Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to safely maneuver equipment in active construction environments.
Ability to interpret basic site plans, work instructions, and equipment operating guidelines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather and environmental conditions.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including climbing on and off equipment and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Five or more years of experience operating articulated rock trucks or other heavy construction equipment.
Experience working on heavy civil, roadway, earthwork, or site development projects is preferred.

Office Roles:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Climate-controlled office environment with varying temperatures
Occasional travel to jobsites with exposure to fluctuating weather conditions
Shop & Field Roles:
Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions
Work may be performed in confined spaces
Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt
Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud
Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Frequent overhead reaching and lifting
Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
Manual labor, including hand digging as needed
Some Saturday work required; Sundays are rarely needed
