We are seeking an experienced Utility Foreman to join our team in Waco, TX. This position is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating daily utility construction activities, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise crews performing underground utility installation, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer projects.
Plan daily work activities and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to support project schedules.
Provide regular project updates and communicate upcoming work plans with project leadership.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to review project plans, schedules, and constructability.
Establish daily production goals and monitor progress throughout the project.
Identify field challenges and work with project leadership to develop practical solutions.
Coordinate equipment maintenance needs and communicate resource requirements to the appropriate team members.
Work closely with contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility owners to support project coordination.
Monitor production, labor, and equipment usage to help manage project performance.
Maintain accurate records, including employee time, equipment hours, daily reports, and production quantities.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, and project partners.
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on field activities.
Ensure project documentation is completed accurately, including as-built information, inspection records, and testing documentation.
Submit required reports and project paperwork in a timely manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support project operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience leading utility construction crews in a heavy civil construction environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Working knowledge of underground utility installation methods, construction practices, and project sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility profiles.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience completing daily field reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Valid driver's license required.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Two or more years of experience in heavy civil construction, including experience leading utility crews or serving in a supervisory role.
Experience with underground utility, site development, or municipal infrastructure projects is preferred.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Climate-controlled office environment with varying temperatures
Occasional travel to jobsites with exposure to fluctuating weather conditions
Shop & Field Roles:
Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions
Work may be performed in confined spaces
Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt
Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud
Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Frequent overhead reaching and lifting
Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
Manual labor, including hand digging as needed
Some Saturday work required; Sundays are rarely needed
